Salleh: Mahathir wants revenge, not out to save Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has no intentions of saving Malaysia and only wants to feed his political agenda in his current campaign against Prime Minister and Umno President Najib Razak, says Sabah Umno leader Salleh Said Keruak.

Salleh, in a blog article today, said that Mahathir’s method, conspiring with his former enemies to overthrow the democratically elected government, showed that the intention was not to save Malaysia, but to destroy it.

Malaysian Founder 'Disgusted' at Successor

HENRY KAMM, Special to the New York Times
Published: July 8, 1988

Hypocrite in disguise
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 7— At 85 years of age, Tunku Abdul Rahman, who presided 31 years ago over the founding of independent Malaysia and later called himself "the happiest Prime Minister in the world," pronounced himself a disappointed man today.

"Disappointed is not the word," he continued. "Disgusted?" he said questioningly, as though seeking his interviewer's approval for the harsh word.

Lines finally drawn in fight for Malaysia

It took Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to force the issue for all Malaysians. He drew a line in the sand today, asking friends and foes to make up their minds once and for all.

Get on his side to "Save Malaysia" from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's government or be the enemy and part of the Najib Party – the ones defending the status quo as much as Dr Mahathir did when sacking Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim 18 years ago.

When a bunch of losers talk

For seven general elections you sucked Dr Mahathir’s dick and licked Umno’s arse. Today, you write an editorial lambasting Dr Mahathir. I think you are 35 years too late. Why repeat what we have been trying to tell you over the last 35 years?

Raise your hand if you expected Dr Mahathir Mohamad to have a conscience attack and blame himself and the Barisan Nasional (BN) government for Project IC – that not-so-secret initiative to hand identity cards to thousands of illegal immigrants in Sabah.

Petronas; Dr. M & Umno’s Cave Of Gold

When Dr M, the ex-Prime Minister’s son Mirzan was in financial trouble with his shipping company, Konsortium Perkapalan Berhad, Dr M asked Anwar(Finance Minister that time) to instruct Petronas via MISC to help him. However, Mirzan wanted a higher valuation price, therefore MISC had a problem. The Late Dato Yassin, MISC Managing Director, told straight to Mirzan face, "Awak ingat MISC bapak awak punya company". And Mirzan reported to his father.

MISC was only willing to pay RM 950 million but Mirzan insisted RM1.3 billion in order to cover his cost. Anwar finally agreed to his request after Hasan Merican told Anwar, “Jangan cari pasal, dia anak Boss. Anyway, MISC is not your company”.

Malays must avoid being a Broken People

By Joe Fernandez
If Malays want to avoid being a Broken People, they and others as well, should not get into rhetoric and polemics and the politics of disruption and distraction.

The media, in that sense, is doing a great disservice to the people. They should focus on helping make a difference for the better, not run back and forth between Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim to manufacture news. Every fart from Mahathir is in the news.

We should focus on what brings us together as a people.

Sulu incursion: Hiding from the truth

By FMT Staff  and Luke Rintod
KOTA KINABALU: As the dust settles on the incursion by a group of armed men from the southern Philippines, the question of who will take responsibility remains hanging. Most politicians in the government have resigned themselves to watching from the sidelines.

Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, the younger brother of Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman, appears to be passively muddling through the crisis.

Malaysia facing policy 'blowback'

The former head of a Philippine separatist group, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), has told Al Jazeera that despite support from Malaysia in the 1960s, some of his fighters have now turned against the Malaysian government.

According to Nur Misuari, the MNLF fighters have joined the Royal Army of Sulu, which has been fighting for control of Malaysia's eastern Sabah state.

Al Jazeera's Jamela Alindogan reports from the Philippine capital, Manila, on whether Malaysia's foreign policy in the 1960s has backfired.

Media should not play up Mahathir

By Joe Fernandez
The way former Prime Mahathir Mohamad has been carrying on since retiring, keeping himself very much in the public eye, it appears that he wants his old job back and this time perhaps until he dies and that could be at 97+. That could be the real reason why the 13th General Election has been unduly delayed.

Mahathir is now 88 years old.

Mahathir's latest visit was to Sabah where he visited the troops in Lahad Datu besides delivering a lecture at UMS on the RCI.

800,000 Filipinos may be sent home

Those who became Malaysian citizens under
Project IC will be the most affected.
MANILA: The majority, if not all, of the 800,000 Filipinos based in Sabah may be sent back to the Philippines on the premise that they had acquired their Malaysian citizenship illegally over the past 20 years under a controversial systematic granting of citizenship to foreigners dubbed Project IC (identity cards).
Project IC, which is blamed on former Malaysian prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohammad, was said to be among the factors that led followers of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to “invade” Sabah in February. Most of the Filipinos who benefited from the project in the past are Tausugs from the nearby islands of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

HOW THE NATION IS SOLD BY MAHATHIR !

By: Nash Ar-Rawy
Citizenship is not a game  to be played with as a mockery by the politicians , National Leadership and government servants such the Immigration Department, NRD  “ PDRM “ , “ SPRM” and EC.

Because it involves the future of the country and national security. But Mahathir had sold out Malaysia just to win theGeneral Election in Sabah . He had also humiliated the Chinese and Indians in this country when he argued about the citizenship given by Tunku to the British Subjects in Malaysia.

Mahathir enters fray as Malaysia braces for poll

KUALA LUMPUR: As Malaysia approaches its tightest election in half a century, the opposition activist Ambiga Sreenevasan has shrugged off calls for her to be stripped of her Malaysian citizenship.
''This will be the dirtiest election ever because it is the most closely fought … Cheating and fraud could be the deciding factor,'' Ms Ambiga, who heads Bersih, a group campaigning for free and fair polling, said.
"This will be the dirtiest election ever because it is the most closely fought."

Stop Dr M before he burns M’sia, says Bishop

The vocal Bishop Paul Tan wants the government
to act against the former premier and all those
who stoke racial and religious tension.
KUALA LUMPUR: Once the object of love and veneration but now hate and denigration, Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s constant outbursts have made him one of the most criticised individuals in this nation.
And even on Valentine’s Day, it is brickbats and not bouquets for the former premier.
Ironically, Mahathir who threw scores of people behind bars without trial on the basis of national security is now considered to be a threat himself.
And his unrestrained remarks on sensitive issues had earned him the wrath of a vocal senior clergyman as well.

I accuse once again Dr Mahathir for racism in Malayasia

This is the most damning article I have come across on the Mamak-Pseudo Malay’s granting of citizenship to Filipino and Indonesian Muslims in Sabah in 1994 so that they may vote his political party into power.
And what was worse than that criminal act was his utterance that Tunku Abdul Rahman did something even more outrageous in granting citizenship to Chinese, Indians and other non-Malays when Malaya achieved independence from the British in 1957.

Mahathir's Tall Tales on Sabah!

By Joe Fernandez

We have heard it all now on Sabah from former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

In his latest take on the on-going Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) in the state, Mahathir claims that he instructed that only those eligible in Sabah should be granted citizenship.

This is rich!

He’s degenerating before our very eyes even as a poor liar.

There’s an old Malayalee saying with which Mahathir should be familiar: “Once you tell a lie, you must tell a thousand other lies to cover up the first lie.”

RPK: For God, King and Racism

Malaysia Today editor blasts Umno for its distorted
version of the country's history and debunks its
claim of having fought for independence
CAMBRIDGE: Raja Petra Kamarudin debunked Umno’s version of Malaysian history and detailed Tunku Abdul Rahman’s sorrow at the destruction of his vision of a multiracial Malaysia, when he spoke at Cambridge University South East Asia Forum (CUSEAF), first Lent term event on Wednesday evening.
Within a stone’s throw of the Tunku’s alma mater, St Catherine’s College Cambridge, Raja Petra told the audience of 90 people, comprising mainly students in their 20s that, “the Tunku used to say he was the happiest PM in the world, but in a later interview, said, ‘I wish I had died earlier…living to this age and seeing my fellow Malayans killing one another. It saddens me. This is not what I planned for my country.’”
According to the Malaysia Today editor, the Tunku died a heartbroken man and neither spoke to, nor forgave the person whom he blamed as the architect of the mess – Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Mahathir behind Project IC, says Anwar

The opposition leader points his fingers at former
prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamed instead.
PETALING JAYA: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim today reiterated his stance that he had nothing to do with the citizenship-for-votes granted to Sabah immigrants in the 1990s.
Instead, he accused former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad of being responsible for the task force allegedly responsible for the citizenships granted to the immigrants.
He also claimed that the exercise was ongoing and suggested that the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) haul up Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and former premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as well.

Mahathir a betrayal for Malaysia, says Baru Bian

By Baru Bian
Reading the testimonies of the various witnesses at the RCI hearings, I cannot help but feel intense anger at the betrayal of our people by Dr Mahathir. By his clandestine and illegal Project IC or Ops Durian Buruk, he managed to single-handedly manipulate the demographics of Sabah, which may have a very different socio-economic and geo-political landscape today but for his meddling. The extent of the effects of Dr Mahathir’s high-handed interference on Sabah’s culture, ethnic cohesion and development will be difficult to measure. This exercise in social engineering is all the more reprehensible for its main criteria, ie the requirement that the illegal immigrants must be Muslims to be eligible for ICs and citizenships.

Josh Hong Comments On Mahathir's Vote Rigging

"If Mahathir earnestly wants to preserve the Malay/Islamic nature of Malaysia, he should, first and foremost, call for a referendum on the future of East Malaysians, many of whom have felt so bitterly betrayed that they may want to quit the federation altogether. Remember: Sabah was not a Muslim-majority state to begin with, and the people enjoyed far better ties than the Umno-dominated states."

A vengeful Dr M at it again

As expected, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is a vengeful man who will not hesitate to drag in others in defence of all the misdeeds committed during his 22-year reign of terror.

For the second time since he 'stepped down' nearly a decade ago, another nefarious act involving him is put to the tight scrutiny of a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) after the Lingam tape scandal in 2007.

Namun beliau mendakwa tindakan berkenaan dijalankan mengikut undang-undang.

"Kita patut tengok balik dan ingat. Tunku Abdul Rahman lebih teruk daripada saya. Dia beri sejuta kewarganegaraan kepada mereka yang tidak layak. Jadi kenapa apa yang dia (Tunku Abdul Rahman) buat tak salah dan apa yang saya buat ini salah?
